Anxiety & Stress Reduction using Hypnosis

The stress response mobilises the entire body for flight-or-fight. When the central nervous system registers a stressor – either real or imaginary – the first stage of the stress response begins automatically with a surge of energy, deep breathing and a more rapid heartbeat. This physiological response is beyond ordinary conscious, willed control. The intensity of this stress reaction depends on the brain’s perception of the severity of the situation.

In pre-historic times where danger from wild animals was a reality, the flight-or-fight response was a protective defense mechanism. Today however, constant elicitation of the stress response can make us more nervous, uncomfortable and even unhealthy. Should the body and mind be unable to get adequate rest, fatigue will persist and serious damage can ensue.

Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool that is widely used to change automatic patterns of thinking. Trying not to worry or stress doesn’t work as it’s not something you decide to do, it is largely involuntary. Hypnotherapy deals with involuntary patterns of thinking, and as a result - energy and optimism can be released.
